The diagram above shows a sheet which combines a number of key features:
- Graphical symbols (the helicopter and the map) imported from an external system.
- Text and graphics inserted onto the sheet. You can include codes within text data which dynamically render information from the database.
- Hotspots (similar to a web hyperlink) which jump to another sheet in the database, run a macro, or open a file.
In addition
- Frames display the contents of other sheets in the database and are dynamically updated as the database contents change, allowing you to combine several sheets into one view
- All objects are associated with a layer, and therefore can be displayed or hidden simply by controlling the visibility of the appropriate layers.
This range of navigation and annotation features provides the basic tools for constructing full featured management interfaces to the data within a database, allowing you to create menus, status screens and so on.
